![]() To proceed, first you need to download the Windows ADK (Windows Automated Deployment Kit) installer from Microsoft site. Symantec support link seems to be unhelpful with this, as my copy of SGG is only trialware. I need the following files to complete the package. I would like to create a boot package using the instructions below, my problem is that GSS 11.5.1 fix does not contain all the binaries as stated in the article. I would appreciate it if someone would tell me that I am wrong and there is a current product that will provide this solution without "installing" the software into Windows. I think the last version of Norton Ghost that worked this simply is 8.3 (part of Symantec Ghost Solution Suite 1.1?) The solution I want would allow the following:ġ) Boot from backup software (either floppy disk or bootable CD / DVD) All the current off the shelf software has all sorts of features that I cannot use / do not want. My need is to irregularly (2 times every year?) make a complete image of the PCs hard disk. I need a backup solution that would allow me to recovery from cold naked metal. I am supporting some industrial equipment with ancient PC hardware (Win2000 / floppy disks / IDE disks / IDE DVD Burner). If I posted in the wrong area I apologise. Hopefully this is the correct place to post this request for help. ![]() I am new to these forums and I am trying to find my way around still. The company I work for would really benefit from this software if we could get it to work correctly :) Win7Pro圆4 w/ 4GB's DDR2 Ram, I can list other specs as requested. I just get an error message stating that an internal issue occured and that it was rolled back and no changes were made to the system. No matter what I do, I cannot install Ghost Console on the copmuter that will be hosting the services of this software. When attempting to do a ghostcast session, the target computer (the computer I wish to image with the base ghost file for that system) informed me that it had to be configured through ghost console before I could attempt a ghostcast session. When I first tried installing GSS, it rolled back immediately and didn't install, I narrowed it down to the installation of "Ghost Console" causing the issue and flagged it so it wouldn't install but the rest of the software would. I recently downloaded the trialware version of Ghost Solutions Suite, I wanted to be able to image multiple computers (of the same type) at the same time over the network. Now, if we are going to backup the C: drive of the source machine, what will be our option in Source drive and Source partition (see attached)? Just an FYI guys – we have the manual but these options were not clearly explained. For the image, we created a new image that has this attached property (Z: Drive is an external drive attached on the target server). Then, we browse for the target server on the “Source machine”.ĥ. From the tasks, we selected “New Image Create Task”.Ĥ. Remote Ghost client has been installed on the target server.ģ. Installing the Symantec Ghost Suite on another server (different from the one that we are supposed to backup).Ģ. Please advise if we are missing something.ġ. So what we have done so far are the following. Unfortunately, this is the first time that we will be using this program so I would just like to confirm the step by step procedure that we need to do in order to capture an image of a server. We have just installed Symantec Ghost Suite 2.5 trialware to backup one of our server. ![]()
